The interaction and community skills of the person is affected life long by this disease. The child with autism behave in a different manner comparing with others. Usually they have speaking problem, so the child could not express his feeling with words.

Those parents who have autistic child, understand the situation very easily but it is difficult for the relatives to get the real picture. Reality is unknown for them. Some facts which are important that will help them to understand is given below.

Many theories quote the possible etiology of autism. Few feel that is because of the mercury in the vaccines that are given to children. While some other theory stays that it is because of age of the parents. While the most appreciated theory is that autism is caused due to genetic and environmental factors.

Autism is also called as Autism Spectrum Disorder. Because few are non-verbal and mentally retarded whilst few are verbal and bright. There are varied range of symptoms in different children with autism. One of the major symptom which is present in almost all the patients is problem in social communication. Autism children do not have the ability to maintain good eye contact, to have proper conversation with others, or take one's perspective etc.

Autism and Asperger Syndrome have some similarities. These two have common problems. In Asperger syndrome, child develops the speech at right time & age whereas in Autism, this milestone is delayed. Or to say Asperger Sydrome will not be non-verbal or mentally retarded.

It is a common fact that every individual is different from another. Similarly, each autism child differs from other. Few may be quite, while the others speaks much. Some have GIT problems, sensory problems, sleep difficulties etc while others have delay in social communication. Thus each differs in symptoms though they have the same disease.

Yet autism remains without proper cure though the medical field has great advancement. There are lot many treatments for this through which skills of the autistic child can be increased but still they can not be like normal ones. Biomedical, even arts-based, behavioral, sensory, developmental, are some of the treatments available for autism. Certain treatment helps to a great extent depending on effect of it on the child.

Autism also seems to be a disease which is life long. The symptoms may become mild with proper timely interventions. Without depending others, they can try to do their activities of daily living. Also their social communication can be improved.

If one gets autism, the whole family seems to be in a stressed situation. They must overcome many odd situations. So the relatives should give their support and friends must help in this condition. This is necessary for the family to fight against this situation. This will motivate them to face the condition.
